University of Petra hosted the launch of the "AI Innovators Hackathon 2025" under the theme "Towards a Creative Generation in Artificial Intelligence… Building Autonomous Intelligent Agents." The event was held under the patronage of Prof. Wael Hadi, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, and organized by the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center and the Faculty of Information Technology, in collaboration with the IEEE CS and CIS student branches.

The hackathon is the largest of its kind in Jordan, with fifty-three teams from eighteen Jordanian universities competing. Participants showcased their creativity by developing innovative projects using artificial intelligence technologies, with a particular focus on designing autonomous intelligent agents.

Prof. Wael Hadi expressed his admiration for the high level of creativity and professionalism demonstrated by the participating students. He emphasized that hosting such events reflects University of Petra's commitment to fostering a culture of innovation, promoting excellence in advanced technology fields, and bridging theoretical knowledge with practical application.

Dr. Abedal-Kareem Al-Banna, Director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, affirmed the center's ongoing support for promising student talents and its dedication to providing an environment that nurtures technical and creative skills in AI and entrepreneurship.​
